First Day in California Recap!

1 Aug

Hello Friends! I know I’ve been absent from the blog world for a few days, but I’ve been busy getting ready and traveling to see my boyfriend who just moved to California! I arrived yesterday at LAX, and now I am spending the week with Dave in Glendale (outside of L.A). Let’s recap yesterday shall we?

Morning

Yesterday morning, I woke up at the bright hour of 6 a.m. to start my half marathon training. My sister and I ran 3 miles around the neighborhood at a 9:55 pace. I was quite happy with our run and felt like it was a great start to my training. One thing I am concerned about is that I’m starting to get slight knee pain. I got new shoes about 4 weeks ago and I’m starting to think that they are causing my pain. Maybe they aren’t the right pair for my feet.

After my run, I got my suitcase around and prepped a quick breakfast for on the go. I made a delicious green smoothie with spinach, frozen banana, strawberries, vanilla almond milk, a little bit of peanut butter, and a half packet of perfect fit protein. I put it in a tumbler and off I went to the airport!

Getting to L.A.!

After traveling for five hours, I arrived at LAX. I was so excited to see Dave and start my trip! When I arrived it was 2 p.m. west coast time. Yesterday was the first day that Dave has possession of his new apartment. We spent the day shopping for his place and setting it up. Our cart at Bed Bath and Beyond was beyond full.

Shopping for his new place sure made us hungry starving. We ate at “My Big Fat Greek Restaurant”. I ordered the Ahi tuna with pesto risotto, side veggies, and carrot crisps. It was good, however I prefer Ahi Tuna more rare. Overall, it was a great first Dinner in L.A.

Alright folks, I’m off to start my second day in L.A! Dave and I need to run 3 miles for Day 2 of Half Marathon Training so hopefully we will find a park to do so. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
