Revival Run

Today feels like Sunday to me. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been traveling so much back and forth from home to my new place in Cincinnati. Unfortunately with the traveling, I let my usual workout routine slip a bit. By the end of our 4 1/2 hour drive back home, I felt myself getting stir crazy. My body just wanted to get up and move!

When we got home around 7:30, I quickly laced up my sneakers and hit the pavement. I gotta tell you..this run was a revival run for me! After taking a 2 day hiatus on working out, this run got me back to my groove. It was one of those runs where I didn’t care about my distance or pace. It was the kind of run where I took deep slow breaths that cleared my thoughts. Blissful.

Needless to say, when I returned from my run I felt rejuvenated. Perhaps I was feeling a runner’s high?

My training for the half marathon officially starts this Tuesday! I’m looking forward to starting this training process and eventually adjusting it to fit into my upcoming crazy schedule (graduate school).
